Spam response playbook

Use this compact sequence when suspicious messages, posts, or account activity appear. It organizes—not extends—the guidance already published by Spam Wipe.

Source boundary: This page is sourced only from Spam Wipe’s own published articles linked below. It does not claim live monitoring, legal compliance, or guaranteed threat removal.

1. Preserve the signal

Before changing systems, note what appeared, where it appeared, and when it was observed. Keep the suspicious item isolated and avoid opening unknown downloads. See Identify Spam Patterns and Avoid Malicious Downloads.

2. Classify the behavior

Compare sender, wording, destination, repetition, and timing. Look for the recurring behaviors described in Analyze Spam Behavior rather than relying on a single clue.

3. Contain the affected channel

Apply the narrowest available moderation or filtering control, preserve legitimate access, and avoid destructive changes before the evidence is understood. The site’s Incident Reporting Protocols article provides the reporting context.

4. Record and remediate

Document the action taken, confirm whether the unwanted behavior continues, and use the staged approach in Spam Remediation Plan for follow-up.

5. Review the pattern

After containment, revisit the evidence and tune rules carefully so legitimate messages or users are not swept away with the abuse.
